Hybrid integrated low-noise linear chirp frequency-modulated continuous-wave laser source based on self-injection to an external cavity

A hybrid integrated low-noise linear chirp frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) laser source with a wide frequency bandwidth is demonstrated. By employing two-dimensional thermal tuning, the shows modulation of 10.3 GHz at 100 Hz chirped and 5.6 1 kHz frequency. The intrinsic linewidth 49.9 42 continuous tuning measured under static operation. Furthermore, by pre-distortion linearization source, it can distinguish 3 m length difference 45 km distance in fiber measurement experiment, demonstrating its application potential ultra-long sensing FMCW light detection ranging.

High-efficiency generation of a continuous-wave single-frequency 780 nm laser by external-cavity frequency doubling.

We demonstrated a 670 mW continuous-wave single-frequency laser source at 780 nm by using external-cavity-enhanced second-harmonic generation of a seeded fiber amplifier in periodically poled lithium niobate. A maximum second-harmonic conversion efficiency of 58% was achieved. The source can work stably over 1 h by locking the frequency-doubling cavity, while the power stability is less than 2%.
